Voting In America – Wake Up People

Anonymous recently shared a video in March of 2012 that was directed at President Obama.  Basically, they’re saying that he’s too focused right now on his political campaign to worry about what’s going on in America at the moment.  I for one agree.

Police are using unnecessary force, Riots are breaking out and preventing people from working, and People are losing jobs left and right…..still.

America needs to wake up and wake up fast.  Because right now, we’re in a spiral downfall with no net.  I’m not saying that Obama is the sole cause of this, but he’s a big player in it.  We need to start voting for people that stick to traditional methods, methods that work, like Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

America is getting dumber, and poorer every day.  We’re becoming a welfare state, headed in the same direction that Greece is at now.  It’s because we have too many people working for the Government and too many people on welfare, etc that shouldn’t be.  They’re doing this deliberately, so that way we’ll become a third world country.  Why?  So we’ll be easier to control.

Those who have money have the power to travel, see the world and do what they want.  We can’t do that if we’re poor right?  We need to start protecting our rights and our freedoms.  What little of them we have left.  Because if the government isn’t careful, there will be a Revolution, just like what Anonymous said.

Get ready, because change is coming and it’s coming fast.  So I ask you America, how do you like your Change now?

Image of the Day – Drift Wood

What do you think of when you see Drift Wood?  I think the thing that strikes me the most is the character.  It’s always different, especially when you look at it at different angles.

This particular piece is one that we picked up somewhere.  Can’t remember where.  It does make an interesting photograph though.  What do you think?

Image of the Day – Guinea Wasp

How close are you willing to get to Nature to capture a great image?

While out at another property that my family owns, it was brought to my attention that there are Guinea Wasp in the area.  They were actually hanging out on a small tree.

Not exactly hanging out, they had created a nest there and were flying back and forth.  How small was this tree?  Only a few feet tall.  Not very big at all.

The great thing about Guinea Wasp, is they’re generally harmless, unless you try to swat at them or harm them in any way.

I ended up taking 4 photographs before I ended up with this one.  Couldn’t have turned out better.  Taken with a fast shutter speed of 1/1000, it’s almost as though it’s posing.  Then again, it was pretty still, only changing position every so often.

#Poem – Narrow Vision

Narrow Vision

My world seems unreal.
Like it’s clouded in a veil.
Never knowing what’s around.
Moving so fast, until I hit the ground.
Turning to see what I fell upon.
My world now seems to be gone.
For there is nothing but my own two feet.
Clearly I’ve been beat.
Not by the world itself.
I just couldn’t see, what was on my own shelf.

The Internet – An Incurable Disease?

A friend of mine pointed out recently that the Internet is an Incurable Addiction.  Or is it perhaps a Disease?  If you think about it, Disease means “a body that is not at ease.”

How many of you are uncomfortable  being without Internet?  I guess uncomfortable isn’t exactly the best term to use.  Many of us do feel that life wouldn’t be the same without the internet and it would probably drive a lot of people crazy.

Thanks to the start of the popularity of MySpace, then Facebook, and Twitter,  we’ve all become obsessed with being connected.  Nowadays with the help of Smartphones, it’s so much easier to waste hours away on Social Media sites.  I didn’t even mention the shear amount of time spent on Youtube.

Notice how I didn’t even mention Google+?  I feel as though Google+ is still catching on, but it’s more of a Professional network.  At least at the moment, it’s heading in that direction.  While Facebook is great to connect with Family and Friends, more people are finding more interaction on a Professional level over at Google+.

The internet in my opinion, should be a learning tool.  While it’s great to have laughs and so forth, we shouldn’t be sinking hours and hours into it for what?  Nothing?  In the days before MySpace and Facebook, we used to go outside, wrestle, swim, and have fun.  What do we do nowadays?

You see why it’s an Incurable Disease?  People feel that they need to be connected at all times and the Internet is a great way to do so.  What do you think?  Is there any hope for the next generation?  Heck, is there any hope for our generation of Tech lovers?

Image of the Day – Leopard Lacewing Cethosia

What is it about butterflies that draws you to them?  Is it the color perhaps?  If you notice the color on the Leopard Lacewing Cethosia, you’ll find interesting patterns.

Red, Orange, Pink, Black, Brown, all mixed together on one Butterfly?  Simply amazing how Mother Nature seems to know what colors go well together.

For those of you who have trouble with that particular task, I suggest taking a lesson from Butterflies.  Look over the color patterns good and find what goes well together.  After all, Mother Nature doesn’t lie.

You can find images such as this Butterfly, which is commonly found in South Asia, and more that are safe to use on blogs at Wikimedia Commons

Video of the Day – Victoria Justice cover by Pop! Fiction

Some of you probably have heard of Victoria Justice, if not, she’s a rising teen Pop Star.  When I browse for new music on Youtube, I search for Covers.

Why Covers?  Covers are a great way to find new bands and rising stars.  If you sort the search results by date, it’ll show the newest uploads.

This is how I cam across Pop! Fiction, an all male Pop band.  The cover they did titled Make It In America was sung by Victoria Justice.  If you ask me, they did a great job on it.

Maybe I’m weird, because I’m a guy, that likes male bands?  As long as the music is great, I don’t care.  Back Street Boys, NSYNC, Justin Bieber, makes no difference to me as long as I get something out of the music.

Maybe you’ll get something out of this band? Why am I sharing this band? I’m a firm believer in shameless promotion. Not Self Promotion, but promoting others that might need a little boost. If you’ve got the time, feel free to share this post with others and leave a comment.

Sea Lions Being Slaughtered Because of Greedy Fisherman?

There was a story that was recently brought to my attention.  Apparently, the officials in Oregon, think it’s ok to Slaughter Sea Lions.  Many people, my self included, would beg the differ.

Apparently, there is a rare species of Salmon in the river where these Sea Lions are at.  At the same time, the Fisherman are allowed to fish about 17% of the fish.  While the Sea Lions consume much less, around 1.1%.  You can see the drama unfolding already can’t you?

What I want to know, is if the Salmon is dwindling, or the species is rare, then why the heck are they even allowing them to fish?  Why not leave them to the Sea Lions?

Yet, at the same time, the Fisherman had sent a letter to the Oregon officials stating they wanted them REMOVED?  When you think of Removed, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?  It doesn’t necessarily mean killed.  It just means relocated.  Yet, you don’t hear the Fisherman speaking up do you?

The problem is, there is another solution.  Rather than take the time and effort to relocate them, they just kill them and brand them with irons.  May as well be sending them to the slaughter house.

Some people just don’t get it.  It’s not always about what the cost of something is.  It’s about doing what’s right.  It’s about looking for alternatives.  Other methods.  Perhaps they could even farm the Salmon to help the population out?

Rather than blame the fisherman for over fishing our seas and rivers, is it really right to accuse innocent wild life that is just trying to thrive?  They’re no different than we our in that sense.  We can grow plants and raise animals.  Why are we even tampering with their food source that isn’t as easy to farm?

By increasing the awareness and putting pressure on the Oregon officials.  We can make them find another alternative.  You can contact the Governor of Oregon below.

In the meantime, I had a list of things to do today.  One of those things was to write a poem.  You can read it below as well, because it pertains to this.  Some say that I have a way with words.  That I can say so much with so little.  What do you think?

Denying the Sea

The world is in denial.
Yet they’re willing to go that extra mile.
To fight for something that they love.
Only to give something else a shove.
Why can’t we all see?
That there’s another way in the Sea.
To share and love this day.
Working together is what I pray.

Video of the Day – Free Running/Parkour

Have you ever wanted to do a bit of Parkour or Free Running?  I’ve been wanting to do a bit of that for a while now.  It’s impressive, but requires quite a bit of conditioning for it.

What’s impressive about it?  The fact that it requires so much Strength and Agility.  You’re running and jumping long distances, then having to pull yourself up on the wall you’ve landed on.

If you don’t know what Free Running/Parkour is, or really enjoy it, then take a look at this impressive video below.

Image of the Day – Magnificent Sunset

Ever notice how some Sunsets are apart from others?  It doesn’t matter where you are.  It seems as though others always have a better Sunset.

Here is a brilliant Sunset that just really shows the colors.
