The Dating Game – Why So Many Fail
The average person thinks of dating as going out, having a good time, and potentially finding the love of their lives. Many people fail in the last aspect of dating – finding that one true love. There are many possible reasons for this, however I believe that there is really one main reason. What is that reason?
Compatibility
The problem is, most people don’t really know what compatibility means. When you’re trying to find a person for life, it’s very important to understand compatibility. It can mean the difference between success and utter failure and by utter failure, I mean having to choose a second rate woman to live the rest of your life with instead of your prime choice. This one action, is where so many men and women both fail to see the big picture.
Friends are great to have around and help us through the hard times. They in general should know us better than most other people. They are the ones that we turn to when we need someone to talk to. They are the ones that may or may not know our darkest secrets. They are the ones that are so much like us, that they could technically be considered a twin. So, why on Earth, would you try to find that same person in your soul mate?
Compatibility doesn’t necessarily mean that you have a ton of things in common. In fact, in this case compatibility means that you more or less complement each other. Just like Red, Blue, and Green colors complement each other during Christmas time, men and women should complement each other to the extent that they bring out the best in each other. They may even go as far as being someone that could help with a hobby or business.
Let’s take someone that’s a Writer for example, like me. If I were to look for a soul mate, she might be good at editing. Someone with good editing skills would complement my writing talents. We would need to be able to work together as a team in order to get a novel out to the public or an article.
Graphics Artists would also be a good pick for a Writer. They would be able to do the art work for the book, as well as the cover design. Do you see what I mean by complementing now? Do you see what I mean by compatibility? A Writer, Editor, or Graphics Artist would be like the colors Red, Blue, and Green. They just go together. This is really what compatibility means.
The average person wouldn’t date someone that was just like their mother, that could very easily end in disaster. Would you even think about dating someone that was just like you? That could also end in disaster. So, when you’re thinking of the Prime Choice for a woman, forget everything you think you know. Set aside what you used to know about compatibility for a second. Then make a list of traits and or talents that would be compatible with your own. This is the kind of woman or man that you want to seek.
It is good to have things in common with the person you’re seeking, but not so much that they would be your twin. It’s also not a good idea to marry or date someone that listens to music that you don’t like or doesn’t like similar food that you do. What good is it marrying someone that is similar to you, but will drive you crazy every time they turn on Rap or Country music?
Balance in anything is the key, you want there to be a slight mixture there to make things interesting. I’m all for trying new things, as long as the music and the food are as close as they can possibly be. Other than that, keep in mind your overall goal in life and find a complementing partner. You’ll probably be much happier if you did.
The Power of Rain, A Blessing From the Heavens
Don’t Go Outside
Don’t go outside in the rain, you’ll catch a cold. Chances are, when you were little, you probably heard that before. Maybe you’ve even heard parents tell kids that today or sometime recently? Isn’t it about time we got out of that mentality?
Here’s the truth, Cold Weather and/or Rain doesn’t cause people to get sick. If anything your kid(s) should probably play a bit in the Rain and actually Enjoy it.
The problem with Cold Weather and Rain is that most people tend to be stuck indoors more often. Not to mention that Children tend to be going to School about this time. Which means that people have more contact with each other during these times.
Therefor, Germs and Viruses aren’t spread via the Weather, they’re spread via Human Contact.
The Power of Rain
Rain, commonly known as Water or even H2O. Something about it just makes you want to relax. At least it does me. I enjoy going out and enjoying a good storm. Usually it’s under the safety of the Carport, however today, I was actually out in it.
Rain is the Life Giver of the Earth. It’s what gives life to everything. It replenishes the Oceans, it feeds our crops, makes flowers bloom, and gives Animals something fresh to drink. So, why is it then that people act like they’re so afraid of it? Why is it that people rush through the Rain to get inside the store?
Yes, Water itself is very Powerful. Floods, Droughts, Tsunamis, and even Hurricanes accompany the rains. Water is perhaps the most powerful of all the Elements, Destructively and Life Giving at the same time. Yet, we shouldn’t fear a little Rain.
A Blessing From The Heavens
Rain is truly a Blessing from the Heavens. Here’s my challenge for you. Next time it rains, go outside and enjoy it. Seriously, spend at least 10-20 minutes out there and enjoy it. You’ll see what I mean.
Rain is the Purest form of Water there is. It rises from the Tainted Earth and climbs into the Heavens. Once in the Heavens it’s cleansed and blessed, in a sense. All the Negativity is removed and it comes crashing back down to the Earth in the form of Rain.
Now just imagine, that you decide to go out and enjoy the coming down of something so Pure. The time you spend out there gives you time to Reflect and Think. On top of that, all the Negativity from the day(s) are washed away. You start to feel good while the pureness of the Rain washes and cleanses you. It’s almost as though you’ve been touched by the Hand of God himself or herself.
This is a feeling of relief. Almost as though the weight you’ve been carrying has been lifted. It’s all that Negative Energy being washed away and you’re left with Pure Energy. So, in a sense the Rain is a good thing. A True Blessing from the Heavens. You’ll never know what I mean unless you experience it for yourself. So, go ahead, I give you permission.
What are you waiting? Make plans to get out there and enjoy the next Rain that falls. Why do you think that people are generally afraid of Rain? Do you take walks in the Rain?
Children’s Eating Habits – Slow Down There Mom
You’re in a major city, let’s say New York. You’re on Business Trip and you’re hungry. It happens to be Lunch Hour, but you decided to pull into McDonald’s anyway. You grab a McDouble Medium Combo. Unaware of how many calories are laden in that delicious meal. The McDouble has 390 calories, Medium Fries has 380 calories, while the Medium Cola has 210 calories. Are you adding these up? That’s 980 calories in one meal.
Still unaware of the calories you’re eating, you can’t help but notice all the kids. Yep, it’s Summer Time and Moms make it a convenience to head to McDonald’s or any other Fast Food joint when they can. The problem you see however is the sheer number of over weight kids. Some of them far worse off than their parents as far as obesity goes. You think for a moment, ‘wait a minute, kids aren’t supposed to be fat.’
Childhood Obesity
Facts:
Childhood obesity has more than tripled in the past 30 years.
The percentage of children aged 6–11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 20% in 2008. Similarly, the percentage of adolescents aged 12–19 years who were obese increased from 5% to 18% over the same period.
In 2008, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese.
Overweight is defined as having excess body weight for a particular height from fat, muscle, bone, water, or a combination of these factors. Obesity is defined as having excess body fat.
Overweight and obesity are the result of “caloric imbalance”—too few calories expended for the amount of calories consumed—and are affected by various genetic, behavioral, and environmental factors.
Opinion:
Honestly, I have to disagree with the Genetic factor in weight control issues. Yes, Genetics does have a factor in how tall we’ll be, what we end up looking like, and overall our maximum strength and capacity. Just because your Mamma was Fat, doesn’t mean you will be. Fat only increases because of Calories and Toxins that we put into our bodies. This mentality, is merely an excuse to stay fat and not work on it.
Now that we have that opinion out of the way. Children who are obese are more likely to have heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, several types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. That is if the Obesity carries on over into Adulthood. As a parent, you’re effectively reducing your Child’s chance of survival, not to mention their lifespan.
Observing Children’s Eating Habits
Have you ever just sat down and watched Children eat? I mean seriously sit down and watch them. If you watch Children that don’t have heavy parent regulations, you might actually learn a thing or two from them. Now, I’m not saying that Parent regulation is bad, just hinting that there might be too much of it. So go ahead, watch the kids eat next time you get a chance. Maybe at a Family Gathering or something like that.
One of the first things you’ll notice is that kids are picky eaters. Not in the sense that they like very few things, but that they’ll pick a little bit of this, eat a little bit of that, and grab a small bite of the next food on their plate. Kids don’t like to be rushed, it’s us who have the busy lifestyle. Slow Down a Bit Mom, enjoy the meal.
Also, never ever force a kid to eat all the food on their plate. I always cringe when I hear parents say eat all of your food. Especially when the kid says, “but I’m full.” I can understand some parents arguments, “but if I let them go now, they’ll want a snack later.” Here’s the thing, they don’t need a snack all the time. That’s one more thing that’s making them Fat. If they absolutely have to have something to eat, then try giving them some fruit as a snack. They don’t need Little Debbie snack cakes. An occasional Little Debbie snack cake isn’t bad. Just try something healthier more often.
Children are always changing what they eat. Yep, there’s that word again, Variety. One year they like this, the next year they like that, you get the idea. It’s up to the parents of the Child to add Variety and keep it around the house.
What Can You Do?
For starters, quit yelling at them. Telling them to eat all the food on their plates does nothing but make them mad and overweight. Take a lesson or two from the Kids and slow down a bit yourself. It takes for the Brain to register you’re full anyway. No wonder kids are slow eaters.
Try serving them smaller potion sizes. They don’t need massive portions like you server them. They do have smaller stomachs after all. Also, give them a smaller plate or bowl. It’ll make them think they’re getting a lot when they’re really not. Psychology can play a roll here.
Add vibrant colors like fruit to the mix. Children naturally love the vibrant colors and also love eating things that they make or help make.
Always Add Foods, Don’t Restrict Them. Remember, that Variety is the Key and we don’t want your kids being fussy eaters. Add Healthy Foods into the diet until there is a good Variety. Once you’ve reached the good Variety, then you can slowly start cutting out the junk.
The only thing I would honestly say restrict, is the amount of Sugar they’re allowed to have. Sugar is the #1 Enemy, not Fat. I’m not saying that Fat can’t make you Fat, but focus on Sugar for now. Start with getting rid of the Soft Drinks like Cola and Pepsi. They may as well be just Sugar and Water.
In conclusion, don’t try to do everything at once. Slowly add things and slowly take away. You’ll be fine and your kids will thank you for it too. You just might even find that you start losing weight once you start dropping that Sugar. Not to mention the other health benefits you’ll get, longer lifespan, more time with the grandkids, more energy to do things, etc etc.
What other eating habits of Children have you observed? Do you think there is a thing or two we could learn from Children?
Creating My Own Kickstarter
Have you ever wanted to make a Film or do some sort of Creative Project that you just haven’t had the funds to do? Enter Kickstarter. Kickstarter is a website for those who want to do something big, but just don’t have the funds for it.
I will however let you know that if you don’t have a clear mission, you’re chances of success drop drastically. On Kickstarter people want to know what they’ll be Pledging too. I’ve been seriously thinking of writing a Report on How to Create Your Own Kickstarter.
You’ll want to keep in mind that there are several steps in the process that you’ll want to do first. One of which should be a No Brainer, actually signing up for Kickstarter. Because of the Process at hand, I’ve decided to create a Report to hopefully help those starting out on Kickstarter.
It’s been about 2 weeks sense I’ve actually started to put my Project on Kickstarter. Yes, it takes a while to launch your first Project. However, it’s not difficult to do. The Report that I’ll be writing will feature easy to read steps and what you absolutely must do first.
So, instead of having to go through all the frustration that I have, you’ll actually know what to expect once the Report is out. I still haven’t decided if I want to charge for the Report yet or perhaps offer it as a bonus for signing up to the RSS Feed on the Website for the Project.
Let me know what you think I should do. Although, I have a pretty good idea what you’re probably going to say already.
The Secret of Life?
Have you ever wondered what the Secret of Life is? Like many that ponder the Meaning of Life, I’ve often wondered that myself. Then, today, it hit me.
Sometimes, it’s so obvious, that you wonder why you hadn’t thought of it before. I bet by now you’re probably wondering what my big discovery is? Perhaps, you’re sitting there thinking to yourself, it’s about time someone else figured it out?
The good news is, that it is pretty easy to know what the secret of life is. The Secret of Life is, “That there is no Secret.” That’s right, there isn’t one. Everything is right out in the open, waiting for us to discover it.
You know that feeling that you get? That feeling that you’re on to something? That you just know you’re right? This is why there is no Secret. There isn’t anything out there, that you, yourself can’t figure out. That is if you wanted to.
So, the question now, isn’t the Secret of Life or even the Meaning of Life. It’s what are you going to do now that you know? Because there is only one thing left that we can do. That’s live a life that can inspire others to bring out their own greatness.
We’re all born of greatness. You just have to do something with it.
Voting In America – Wake Up People
Anonymous recently shared a video in March of 2012 that was directed at President Obama. Basically, they’re saying that he’s too focused right now on his political campaign to worry about what’s going on in America at the moment. I for one agree.
Police are using unnecessary force, Riots are breaking out and preventing people from working, and People are losing jobs left and right…..still.
America needs to wake up and wake up fast. Because right now, we’re in a spiral downfall with no net. I’m not saying that Obama is the sole cause of this, but he’s a big player in it. We need to start voting for people that stick to traditional methods, methods that work, like Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.
America is getting dumber, and poorer every day. We’re becoming a welfare state, headed in the same direction that Greece is at now. It’s because we have too many people working for the Government and too many people on welfare, etc that shouldn’t be. They’re doing this deliberately, so that way we’ll become a third world country. Why? So we’ll be easier to control.
Those who have money have the power to travel, see the world and do what they want. We can’t do that if we’re poor right? We need to start protecting our rights and our freedoms. What little of them we have left. Because if the government isn’t careful, there will be a Revolution, just like what Anonymous said.
Get ready, because change is coming and it’s coming fast. So I ask you America, how do you like your Change now?
Obama’s Theme Song…..
The Internet – An Incurable Disease?
A friend of mine pointed out recently that the Internet is an Incurable Addiction. Or is it perhaps a Disease? If you think about it, Disease means “a body that is not at ease.”
How many of you are uncomfortable being without Internet? I guess uncomfortable isn’t exactly the best term to use. Many of us do feel that life wouldn’t be the same without the internet and it would probably drive a lot of people crazy.
Thanks to the start of the popularity of MySpace, then Facebook, and Twitter, we’ve all become obsessed with being connected. Nowadays with the help of Smartphones, it’s so much easier to waste hours away on Social Media sites. I didn’t even mention the shear amount of time spent on Youtube.
Notice how I didn’t even mention Google+? I feel as though Google+ is still catching on, but it’s more of a Professional network. At least at the moment, it’s heading in that direction. While Facebook is great to connect with Family and Friends, more people are finding more interaction on a Professional level over at Google+.
The internet in my opinion, should be a learning tool. While it’s great to have laughs and so forth, we shouldn’t be sinking hours and hours into it for what? Nothing? In the days before MySpace and Facebook, we used to go outside, wrestle, swim, and have fun. What do we do nowadays?
You see why it’s an Incurable Disease? People feel that they need to be connected at all times and the Internet is a great way to do so. What do you think? Is there any hope for the next generation? Heck, is there any hope for our generation of Tech lovers?
Sea Lions Being Slaughtered Because of Greedy Fisherman?
There was a story that was recently brought to my attention. Apparently, the officials in Oregon, think it’s ok to Slaughter Sea Lions. Many people, my self included, would beg the differ.
Apparently, there is a rare species of Salmon in the river where these Sea Lions are at. At the same time, the Fisherman are allowed to fish about 17% of the fish. While the Sea Lions consume much less, around 1.1%. You can see the drama unfolding already can’t you?
What I want to know, is if the Salmon is dwindling, or the species is rare, then why the heck are they even allowing them to fish? Why not leave them to the Sea Lions?
Yet, at the same time, the Fisherman had sent a letter to the Oregon officials stating they wanted them REMOVED? When you think of Removed, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? It doesn’t necessarily mean killed. It just means relocated. Yet, you don’t hear the Fisherman speaking up do you?
The problem is, there is another solution. Rather than take the time and effort to relocate them, they just kill them and brand them with irons. May as well be sending them to the slaughter house.
Some people just don’t get it. It’s not always about what the cost of something is. It’s about doing what’s right. It’s about looking for alternatives. Other methods. Perhaps they could even farm the Salmon to help the population out?
Rather than blame the fisherman for over fishing our seas and rivers, is it really right to accuse innocent wild life that is just trying to thrive? They’re no different than we our in that sense. We can grow plants and raise animals. Why are we even tampering with their food source that isn’t as easy to farm?
By increasing the awareness and putting pressure on the Oregon officials. We can make them find another alternative. You can contact the Governor of Oregon below.
Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber:
phone: (503) 378-4582
In the meantime, I had a list of things to do today. One of those things was to write a poem. You can read it below as well, because it pertains to this. Some say that I have a way with words. That I can say so much with so little. What do you think?
Denying the Sea
The world is in denial.
Yet they’re willing to go that extra mile.
To fight for something that they love.
Only to give something else a shove.
Why can’t we all see?
That there’s another way in the Sea.
To share and love this day.
Working together is what I pray.

Excuses, Excuses – It’s About Time
Ever notice how people are always making excuses and pouting about certain things? For the longest time I used to do just that. It was always something.
First it was the economy. Then there was the fact that 150+ applicants applied for the same job, so why should I bother with such a saturated market? Then, it was the fact that I don’t have a ride, without a car, I can’t go anywhere.
I’ll admit, life can be tough sometimes, but we have to pull through and look at the upside. Perhaps, the reason I’m going through all of this, is so that I can become a leader and potentially provide jobs for others. In an otherwise down economy, this is a plus, a big plus.
No one really likes being unemployed. There is little reward in this. So, why not join me and start creating jobs? Let’s become a leader in the next generation?
There will always be excuses though that we’ll have to keep an eye out for. For example: I’ve been having a big excuse about not being in the mood to write on my Novel, yet at the same time, I’m keeping up with a Blog everyday. Well, nearly everyday.
Perhaps my biggest problem is I’m too stressed? I think it’s time I started looking at that as well and started being a little more creative. Between playing Minecraft and Painting, I think I can relieve a bit of that stress.
Also, it doesn’t hurt to start living like a kid again. Remember when you were little and built your first log cabin out of Popsicle Sticks? That was fun, especially when you did it with family members. Nowadays, we’re a lot more creative and could potentially make a full blown house with rooms and all.
Are you with me? Let’s drop the excuses and start taking charge.
It’s Storming in Florida
Well, it’s probably storming all over the place right now. Although, we actually had a decent rain today. So decent, that the yard flooded.
Did you know that you can count the distance between a lightning strike and the thunder? If you count one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, and wait until the thunder gets here. Each count is considered to be a mile. So, if you get to seven one thousand, it’s about 7 miles away as a rule of thumb.
